Flower Festival

The Ginger Flower & Food Festival is back… BIGGER and BETTER than ever and here
are just a few highlights of what’s in store!

A Special Cooking Event not to be missed – deluxe, hands-on cooking classes with our Michelin-starred
Chef Erik Van Alphen taking you to a different culinary destination each day.

Just 20 places in each class.

All classes include personalised tuition, ingredients, recipes and a delicious banquet-style lunch. Bookings essential.

Thursday 21st January:
BUDERIM GINGER COOKING SCHOOL PRESENTS… FRANÇAIS

10.00am Our Michelin-starred Chef Erik Van Alphen stars with a rustic showcase of Southern French Cuisine.

Menu: Spinach, potato & scallop soup (Soupe d'epinards et pommes de terre de pétoncles)
Grilled rainbow trout with a sorrel, chervil & lemon escabèche (Truite arc-en-ciel grillée aux escabèche d’ oseille, cerfeuil et cédrat)
Passionfruit & ginger crème brûlée (Crème brûlée de fruits de passion et au gingembre sucre)

Friday 22nd January
BUDERIM GINGER COOKING SCHOOL PRESENTS... ITALIA

10.00am Our Michelin-starred Chef Erik Van Alphen takes you on a culinary tour through Italy.

Menu: (Piemonte) Risotto with asparagus, goat’s cheese & olives (Asparagi, formaggi caprini & oliva risotto dal Piemonte)
(Palermo)Veal involtini with polenta & wild mushrooms (Vitello involtini alla Palermo, polenta con selvatici funghi)
Coffee praline semi freddo (Caffè pralina semifreddi)

Saturday 23rd January
BUDERIM GINGER COOKING SCHOOL PRESENTS... ESPAÑOL

10.00am Our Michelin-starred Chef Erik Van Alphen takes you through an exotic Spanish menu including classic Catalan flavours.

Menu: Chilled tomato soup (Gazpacho al andalucia)
(Catalan) Chicken sausages with cabbage & saffron (Embutidos de pollo estilo catalán con y azafrán)
Churros and hot cinnamon chocolate (Churros col y chocolate caliente de canela)

Sunday 24th January

program is packed full of gourmet goodies:
• Alison Alexander: the doyenne of the Hilton Masterclasses and ABC radio regular, Alison shares her
tips on making the most of our great regional produce and some of her favourite recipes.
• Xavier Mouche: former personal chef to the Sultan of Brunei, Xavier has worked alongside Alain Ducasse,
Guy Savoy and Gordon Ramsay and shares his passion for food design.
• Exotic Flavours: Roger Albert, Matilda Scarfe and Aki Kitabitake, local exotic flavour specialists, showcase
Creole, African and Japanese cuisines.

New Summertime program out now

Just in time for peak social period of the year!  This Season’s program has a great line up new classes that are perfect for the warmer months and includes a sprinkling of advanced classes and specialty themes.  All you need for a long, hot summer with family and friends.
Program highlights include:

  • Summertime entertaining – welcome the new season with some fresh entertaining ideas to brighten up your social calendar.  This season’s program includes tapas, canapés
  • Seafood Speciality classes – new season menus and techniques for making the most of the fabulous fresh local seafood  available this season.  New themes include Mediterranean Style menus.
  • Five Star at Home – Entertaining masterclasses that polish your skills and presentation for  entertaining at home
