Things you need to know

Buderim Ginger Cooking School classes are completely hands-on, offering everyone in the class the opportunity to be involved in each item on the menu. Every class offers personalised attention from Buderim Ginger’s Executive Chef with participants working in small groups at individual workstations. Each group prepares the entire menu to enjoy at the end of each class.

All classes include:

  • instruction on equipment use and care
  • food safety and handling tuition
  • knife skills according to the skill level of participants

Take home items include:

  • recipe cards
  • Buderim Ginger Cooking School apron
  • some speciality classes have take home packs of items produced during class.

Tea, coffee and water are provided during class along with a light snack. Menu items prepared during the session are served at the end of class with a glass of wine. Non-alcoholic beverage are also available.

What to expect

Buderim Ginger Cooking School hands-on classes give you the opportunity to quite literally get your hands dirty. Classes take place in a custom built kitchen with some commercial work areas. Under the supervision of our qualified chef you’ll chop, peel, fry, bake and even help with the washing-up – and you’ll love every minute!

What to wear

Please dress comfortably and remember – all participants must wear flat soled shoes with covered toes. For safety and hygiene all participants are asked to remove jewellery with stones or dangling pieces.

Start times and Class Durations

Daytime classes begin at 10:00am and evening classes at 6:30pm unless otherwise indicated on the program schedule. Guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to start time to allow for introductions and familiarisation with the facility. Most classes run for approximately four hours including breaks, meals and clean-up. Some speciality classes vary in duration and, where this is the case, class duration is indicated on the program schedule.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the planning and purchasing requirements for each session, payments for classes are non refundable. You may however, transfer to another class if 72 hours notice is provided.

Booking for special events are non-refundable and non-transferable.
